" COME THOU WITH US AND WE WILL DO THEE GOOD" - NUMBERS 10:29

Our Ministries

At Calvary, we strive to be a church for everyone. To do so, we offer numerous ministries where you can grow in your faith, find fellowship and support, and utilize your spiritual gifts to serve in God's kingdom.

sundayschoolSunday School - “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”2 Timothy 2:15. It is our goal to provide the resources needed for our church family to learn the word of God in such a way that it not only becomes knowledge, but it impacts the way we live our daily lives. We currently use Randall House Publication’s CLEAR curriculum which allows our families to study the same topics each week while presenting the material in an age appropriate manner.

Worship Services“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”John 4:23. The strong point of emphasis in our church is the preaching ministry. Each service on Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night is directed toward the preaching of God's Word. We believe you and your family will be strengthened by the pulpit ministry of our church.

Nurseries
“And Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation both of
men and women, and nurseryavailableall that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month.Nehemiah 8:2. For your convenience, we offer two nursery options. An unstaffed fully-equipped nursery is available at the rear of the church sanctuary complete with one-way glass and wired audio feed which allows everyone to remain a participant in our services. We also provide a staffed nursery downstairs for children ages 0-3 during our Sunday morning worship service.

Music Ministry:

Adult ChoirSpeaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;”Ephesians 5:19. Throughout the Bible, we find that music is a very important part of worshiping God. Our Choir offers opportunities to blend voices together in worship as well as opportunities for ministry through song.

Teen & Children’s ChoirsO come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.”Psalms 95:1. The Bible leaves no doubt that God desires to hear our voices lifted up to Him in song. We desire for our children to participate in worship which allows them to join their voices in song. Not only does this give our children a chance to develop the talents God has given them, it is also a wonderful way for them to minister to the church as they share their special music with us.

Youth Group“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”Proverbs 22:6. With so much competing for the attention of our children today, we feel that it is vitally important to offer our children a Christ centered alternative. Our youth leaders are dedicated to providing an atmosphere in which our children can grow through Bible based teaching, hands on interaction, and relevant application to the world in which they live. Children of all ages are invited to become a part of our Wednesday night Church Training Service (CTS) where we pour into them the truths of God's Word in a fun and engaging way. Our youth also attend various camps, travel to multiple venues, and host numerous other events throughout the year. Every fifth Sunday here at Calvary is designated as Youth/Young Adult Sunday.

youngadultsYoung Adult Ministry“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things." – I Corinthians 13:11. Here at Calvary, we realize the challenges young people have as they transition from one stage of life into the next. Our Young Adult Ministry's mission is to provide an open forum where young adults can meet regularly to discuss the various spiritual issues their age group faces as well as gain an understanding of God's Word as it applies in their lives. This ministry (ages 18-30) meets on the fourth Sunday of each month to provide support and fellowship while motivating one another to maintain a consistent walk of faith.

Ladies MinistryWomen's MinistryFor we are labourers together with God:”1 Corinthians 3:9. Our ladies ministry loves the Lord and is more than willing to put that love into action. They meet together on the first Monday of each month for a time of prayer, Bible study, and fellowship. Throughout the year they work hard ministering to those who are hospitalized and to families who have experienced the loss of a loved one.

Seniors MinistryPrime Timers Seniors Ministry – "They shall bring forth fruit in old age..." – Psalm 92:14. "Having the time of their life in the prime of their life," our seniors ministry (55 and over) provides a catered luncheon, activities, and fellowship for our seasoned men and ladies on the second Tuesday of every month beginning at 10:00 a.m. Selected venues and travel sites are also visited once per quarter. Transportation is provided to and from the church for each of these special activities.

Nursing Home Ministry 2Nursing Home Ministry – "Cast me not off in the time of old age..." – Psalm 71:9. We travel to Margate Health and Rehabilitation Center in Jefferson, NC, every second Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. and conduct a worship service with the residents. We bring a choir along with special singers and our pastor preaches. This is a tremendous blessing not only to the residents of Margate but also to our volunteers that conduct the service.

Transportation Ministry – “Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” – Luke 14:23. It is our goal to provide a way for those without transportation to come under the teaching of the gospel by providing them with a way to get to church.

Extra-DVDs-SetDVD/CD Ministry“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” – 1 Corinthians 1:18. All of our services are recorded and are available by request.
